WISENT + BISON Subsoiler

Powerful performance beneath the surface

Reduce soil compaction, improve water management, and ensure soil health

Compaction in the subsoil develops silently—and reduces yields for years to come. The WISENT and BISON subsoilers are designed to break up this layer effectively. With a working depth of up to 60 cm, a solid frame construction, and a clever tine design, they work gently on the soil structure and effectively combat waterlogging and compacted zones. Their impact is evident not only in the current crop but throughout the entire crop rotation system.

WISENT or BISON?

Two machines are available for optimal soil loosening: the WISENT and the BISON.
The WISENT is characterized by its single-beam design and straight tines. Additionally, other machines or a roller can be attached to the rear of the WISENT using lower links.
The BISON is distinguished by its two-row design and curved tines. These plow-like tines lift and break up the soil optimally. Additionally, the machine can carry a roller for reconsolidation and depth control.

The principle of deep loosening

Unlike shallow tillage, this method specifically targets the subsoil. The special geometry of the tines lifts and loosens the compacted layer without excessively mixing the topsoil. This improves root penetration, water drainage, and air circulation in the soil.

Sturdy frame construction

The frame, made of high-strength fine-grained steel, is designed to withstand extreme loads. The sturdy tine mount ensures precise guidance even at maximum working depth. With the WISENT’s optional mounting bracket, you can easily combine it with other machines—whether a disc harrow, a cultivator, or a rotary harrow. This saves you valuable passes.

Tine and coulter options

WISENT and BISON offer a variety of tine and coulter options—from narrow, straight loosening coulters to curved plow tines for targeted deep loosening. This allows the machine to be precisely adjusted to the soil type and intended application.

Rolling options

A suitable trailing roller ensures reconsolidation, even soil contact, and depth control. Depending on the crop and soil conditions, various roller profiles are available to retain moisture and create a stable surface.

Effect in practice

The benefits of proper deep loosening are often visible after the first rain: no waterlogging, faster drying, and uniform crop development. Over the years, soil health improves measurably.
